# Making Requests

Orvyn works best when you give it clear, specific instructions. The more precise your request, the better the results.

## Be Specific and Clear

The key to getting good results is being precise about what you want changed and where.

**Include the location:**

* "Make the title on slide 5 bold" is better than "Make the title bold"

**Use clear property names:**

* "Change the text color to red" or "Use #FF0000" works better than "Make it look more attention-grabbing"
* Standard color names (red, green, blue) and hex codes work best

**Be explicit about scope:**

* "Make all mentions of 'EBITDA' bold across the entire deck" is clearer than "Make EBITDA bold"
* Say "across all slides", "on this slide", or "on slides 3, 5, and 7" to avoid confusion

**Use unique identifiers:**

* "Change all EBITDA figures to blue" is more reliable than "Change all profit numbers to blue"
* Use specific text to target exactly what you need

## Common Mistakes

**Vague Requests**

* **Issue:** "Update the chart"
* **Better:** "Change the FY24 revenue bar to blue in the chart on slide 5"

**Unclear Instructions**

* **Issue:** "Make the numbers stand out"
* **Better:** "Make all EBITDA figures bold and change them to blue"

**Missing Location**

* **Issue:** "Update the numbers"
* **Better:** "Update the revenue numbers in the table on slide 7"
