# Understanding Versions

Presentations and versions work together to organize your PowerPoint files.

## The Basic Concept

Think of it like this:

* **Presentation** = The project or document (like "Q4 Deck")
* **Version** = Snapshots of that document at different points in time (like "Version 1: Initial draft", "Version 2: After first review")

## What Gets Saved in a Version

Each version stores:

* **The complete PowerPoint file** (all slides, formatting, images, charts, animations, speaker notes)
* **All comments** associated with that version

This means:

* Versions are independent. Changing one doesn't affect others
* You can quickly switch between versions of the same presentation
